IO/OB STUDENT CONFERENCE

Western’s IO psychology graduate students attend various international conferences annually, but one conference that is near and dear to our hearts is the Southwestern Ontario Industrial Organizational (IO) and Organizational Behaviour (OB) Student Conference. This conference, which began at Western in 2005, is an annual meeting of I/O and O/B programs within Ontario to share our research findings, make professional connections, and serve as a stepping stone for presenting at major international conferences. Each conference features a set of captivating keynote speakers from various backgrounds of academia and practitioner-oriented work. This conference is hosted on a rotational basis between participating universities. Proudly, this conference is fully funded by the host university and the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP), making this a completely free conference for attendees (which includes catered food, need we say more?).

Western Hosts the 2018 I/O and O/B Student Conference:

On Saturday, November 24th, 2018, Western hosted the 13th Annual Southwestern I/O and OB Student Conference. The conference had 50+ attendees, an engaging key-note speaker, a panel of academics in the field, a panel of applied professionals in the field, and student poster and oral presentations. Dr. Ann Peng was our energetic key note speaker, Dr. Julie Aitken Schermer, Dr. Lynn Imai, Dr. Lisa Keeping, and Dr. Alex Benson sat on our academic panel, and Dr. David Anderson, Dr. Ashlyn Patterson, Dr. Julie Carswell, and Erica Sutherland sat on our applied panel.
